Leipalingis area

Aviris is a transparent lake that is full of fish and is surrounded by forested shores that are rich in mushrooms and various berries. To the south, there is the Avirė Hydrographic Reserve, while in the west the village of Veršiai and rural homesteads designed for tourist accommodation are located. The lake is great for calm recreation activities and a holiday surrounded by nature.

Leipalingis Manor was built in 1830 and is one of the most important objects to represent the historical architectural heritage of Dzūkija. The Classical-style manor is now the site of a school, a regional administration office, a library and a unique ethnography museum with over 12,000 exhibits.

Černiauskai Mound (also called Leipalingis Mound) is the only mound in Druskininkai Municipality. On the eastern side of the mound, there is a settlement at the foot of the hill where rough ceramics, animal bones, slag and clay plaster can be found. Once, a clay cylindrical spindle was also found. The mound is thought to have been formed in the 1st or 2nd millennium.
